North America and Europe will experience significant growth in mobile voice and video calling over the next 4 years
According to Juniper Research, in 2020 the number of mobile video calling worldwide has reached 1.8 billion, up from 1.2 billion in 2019. This represents a 50% increase in 12 months as the COVID-19 pandemic has triggered the demand for telecom services.
The study estimates that the number of users of mobile video calls will continue to grow, reaching 4.5 billion by 2025, representing 50% of the world’s mobile subscribers.
Juniper Research also forecasts that global VoLTE (Voice over LTE) connections will reach 5.5 billion by 2025, compared to 3.3 billion in 2021.
This 60% growth over the next four years will be increased in the number of mobile subscribers using a 5G, as VoLTE services are included in the 5G standards.
We’ve reported that Elon Musk’s startup wired up monkey’s brain to play video games.
