According to its official website, Lyft introduces Shared Saver, the new shared rides option, allowing users to?save on?transport costs.
Just wait a few minutes for a ride. We’ll find a pickup spot that’s a quick walk (a few blocks, max) from you to meet your driver and co-riders. And ditto for your drop-off — you’ll be just a short walk to your destination

Here’s how it works:
- A user sets destination and then set the ride type to ‘Shared Saver.’
- A user taps ‘Confirm pickup area’ (to see where they might be walking) to request their ride.
- When Shared Saver is confirmed, Lyft will notify a user where to walk.
- Once a user is in the ride and the app finds their drop-off point, Lyft will show them where to walk.
