Dó.Re.Mi Edible Cookie Dough is a Bulacan-based online shop that opened its doors to the public last October (2017). Edible cookie dough’s aren’t new to the market but for those living here in Bulacan, this is a fairly new dessert option that Bulakenyos aren’t used to seeing around.
With six (6) flavors to choose from, there’s no doubt that you won’t find your favorite!
- Matcoeli Matcha Flavor
- Choco Baby Almalbis
- Smorselves the Elves
- Oh-reo Flamingo!
- Clara Bean-in
- Almond Marasigan
Unique names, right? It’s because the owners’ love for music, Indie Music to be specific, has been incorporated into their branding – through their business name down to the flavors they’re offering.
Very affordable considering that you get a hefty amount of product in the jar. Php90.00 for the 150g flavored cookie dough and 200g for the original one. While the 200g for the flavored cookie dough costs Php120.00
There were hits and misses for me. Each has its own unique taste (and aftertaste) and finish – some are chewy, some crumbly, and some has a bit of creaminess to it.
This here’s the Oh-reo Flamingo! It has oreo bits as topping and the whole jar is infused with its flavor. For me, it’s sweetness is just perfect and overall, this one’s definitely part of my favorites!
Clara Bean-in is their coffee infused cookie dough. This one didn’t make it to my list as I feel like the coffee flavor is overpowering plus there’s an after taste of what seems to be a bit salty.
Smore’selves the Elves, as the name implies, is their version of s’mores in an edible cookie dough form. This is one of my favorites as it not only tastes like s’mores, its consistency is just right – not too creamy not too crumbly. It’s not that sweet too! Bonus points because at the top, it has a cracker, marshmallow, and a Hershey bar!
MatCoeli is their matcha flavored one. For those who knows me personally, you’d for sure think that this is my number 1 favorite. However, it’s kind of 50/50 for me. Don’t get me wrong, I love that it has a matcha Kitkat bar on top and it has a nice consistency to it (plus it’s not that sweet), but the overall taste isn’t just at par with the expectations that I have with it. I would really love to see if they’d add more matcha flavor to it, that should give it a kick! If I was to rate this, I’d probably give it a 9 out of 10 stars.
Another favorite of mine, Almond Marasigan that has chocolate chips and almonds on top. This is also one of my favorites as the overall taste is just WOW! for me. I’m finding it hard to put into words the exact taste that I’ve managed to experience but I love how the overall taste has every bit of flavor that you’d expect it to have – almonds, chocolate-y, cookies; all placed into 1 jar that I bet you’ll enjoy and finish in one sitting (I know I did!).
Last but not the least, we have the Choco Baby Almalbis. For 90s babies out there, I’m sure you’ll love this as much as I did! When Charina, owner of Do.Re.Mi Cookie Dough, introduced the flavors to me, this was one of the flavors that I really got excited about! It’s not over-promising as you’ll really enjoy the choco baby and cookies flavor that’s beautifully placed in this jar.
PRESENTATION AND PACKAGING
Very simple and the jars they used are very durable. While getting one of the jars from the fridge, I accidentally dropped it and thank goodness it didn’t break! The glass of the jars they used are thick and is food grade as their supplier is a legitimate distributor of baking supplies here in Bulacan.
I did notice that the sticker they used peels off and fades easily when it gets wet or acquires moisture. As per the owner(s), they’re already in talks with a printing company to supply high-quality and durable stickers for their jars.
