Amazon has launched an initiative to expand the reach of its Generative AI Innovation Center.
The Generative AI Partner Alliance, which was announced by Amazon Web Services (AWS) on Monday, November 4, is designed to provide customers with access to a network of system experts and consulting companies helping them deploy solutions based on generative artificial intelligence.
The Generative AI Innovation Center (GenAIIC), which was introduced last June, works with clients such as DoorDash, Nasdaq, and the PGA TOUR. The relevant information is contained in the press release of Amazon.
Sri Elaprolu, head of the center, stated that in this case, the approach to the implementation of the activity is to provide clients with the opportunity to identify and refine the use scenarios of artificial intelligence that generate tangible value for the business. It is worth noting separately that in the mentioned case there is another example of how AI becomes a working tool. The integration of artificial intelligence into various industries can currently be characterized as a practice that is on the trajectory of active scaling.
Sri Elaprolu also stated that the center focuses on developing end-to-end solutions and customizing foundation machine intelligence models when necessary to meet specific needs, and prioritizes security and scalability. Moreover, it was separately noted that the appropriate customer-oriented strategy contributed to the success of GenAIIC.
Besides, Sri Elaprolu stated that the center’s expanding network of partners will help it assist more clients in the deployment of generative artificial intelligence. Among the members of the alliance are Booz Allen Hamilton, Crayon, Escala24x7, Megazone Cloud, NCS Group, Quanitphi and Rackspace.
It’s worth mentioning that last week Amazon published a quarterly report according to which AWS consistently generates a portion of the total revenue of this e-commerce giant, which in recent years has also become a major player in the global technology sector. Also, the company’s cloud computing unit has positive growth prospects. AWS revenue for the third quarter of the current year was fixed at $27.5 billion. This indicator showed an increase of 19% compared to the result for the same period last year. It is also worth noting separately that in the third quarter of 2023, AWS revenue rose by 12% regarding to the figure for the analogous period in 2022.
Amazon’s cloud computing unit, according to media reports, has released almost twice as many machine learning and artificial intelligence features over the past year and a half as other leading cloud providers combined. Chief executive officer of the company Andy Jassy said that at the current stage of development, the firm’s business in the AI area is growing more than three times faster than AWS. At the same time, it was separately noted that the cloud computing unit is also showing rapid growth.
Amazon is one of the largest technology giants making significant financial injections in artificial intelligence infrastructure. It is worth noting that AI is actually the most advanced technology at the current stage of human civilization development. It is worth noting that the tools to counteract the relevant practice of negative use of artificial intelligence are being developed. For example, last year, the startup Reality Defender raised $15 million to detect deepfakes. It is worth noting that the use of artificial intelligence in negative scenarios does not mean its absolute harmfulness or a kind of total danger. AI, like any other technology, can be applied both to achieve constructive, useful goals and to achieve destructive results. Artificial intelligence is a human-controlled tool. Perhaps the format of interaction between humanity and AI will change to a certain extent when this technology transforms into an independent system of thinking capable of autonomous development.
