I know, I know, you’ve probably seen or watched a product review for the UD Naked 1 Palette But I still want to post my own to give ideas to my fellow Filipina makeup junkies a fell of what this palette can offer despite the humid weather that we have here in the Philippines.
Just a quick share, this is how the palette was wrapped when it was sent to me:
The brown paper bag was 4 layers I think so you could imagine how my face looked like when I saw that after tearing one bag, another one pops up. Anyway, off to the review, shall we?
OUTER PACKAGING (5/5):
-the acrylic plastic box is something I like since you can immediately see through the box. you’ll be able to see immediately what’s inside.
-i also find the box durable especially if you’ll have this product shipped to you.
-and because it’s see through, you’ll be able to see the ingredients and what-not on the back part.
that’s me on the photo in my laptop’s screen :))
PALETTE’S PACKAGING (4/5):
-the design is ABSOLUTELY chic and sleek
-the top can be bent all the way through for easy grip on the palette while applying your shadows
-the packaging’s made out of felt so expect it to collect dust much faster
for size comparison
1. UDPP (Urban Decay Primer Potion)
-although this is travel size, I still like the fact that they gave a sample.
-this alone retails for $9.00 from their website urbandecay.com
2. Good Karma Shadow Brush
-this alone retails for $26.00
-it’s good that they included a brush and not a sponge just because, in my own opinion, this can apply the eyeshadow more easily and flawlessly
-good thing because you don’t need to bring extra sets of eye brushes especially if you’ll be travelling light
-can fit almost any travel purses and small train cases
Now we come to the most exciting part, the colors included in this palette!!!
notice that “naked” isn’t visible :))
-wide selection of colors (considering this is a neutral palette) with matte, shimmer, satin, and sparkle/metallic finish
-good palette to invest in if you’re a beginner or someone who intends to use this for everyday use (work, school, etc.)
-these are just one swipe from the pan (except “naked” which failed to show off its color because my skin tone’s the same as the shade) and I didn’t apply any primer whatsoever, so you can really see how highly pigmented these babies are
-some colors may result to fallouts (like “creep”)
-this retails for $48.00 from their website plus shipping fee, though I got this for Php3310.00 inclusive of shipping fee from a local online store
-not available locally, so it’s either you have your relatives abroad shop for you or risk buying from online stores (although it’s a good thing my friend/trusted makeup online store saved this for me)
Irregardless of the felt packaging and the fallouts that some colors give-off, I still like this palette just because it’s good to use for everyday makeup application. Some colors can also be used to create dramatic looks for special occasions. Also considering the fact that the freebies alone sums up to $32.00, this palette itself is a great buy because aside from the gorgeous colors it has, it also has good free stuff that’s very useful as well.
Am I going to re-purchase? Yes, or probably other UD palettes.
Urban Decay did not, in any way, pay me to conduct this review. Everything I said is 101% true.
