It was my friend who introduced me to Ryu Ramen & Curry and being so in love with Japanese food, I happily said yes to her invite to go and eat there even though it was already 10:00PM. Let’s proceed with my review…
LOCATION & SPACE (4/5)
The restaurant is located in Tomas Morato, and if you’re familiar with that place, you know that parking is a big issue. Although they have an allotted parking space in front of their restaurant, we still had a hard time to park our car (even before, my friend would tell me she always get into trouble in finding a parking).
As for the space inside the restaurant, it’s very spacious. They can accommodate a lot of customers, and best of all, there are spaces between each table, making it passable for customers going in and out.
Looking at all the prices for each dish that they serve, I can honestly say it’s very affordable for someone like me who is a student, a mother, and an entrepreneur.
TASTE AND PRESENTATION(5/5)
We ordered 3 dishes and here are my thoughts about each of them:
1. TanTanMen – a spicy miso based broth with ground pork, soft boiled egg, negi, and garlic oil with two (2) slices of chasyu. Choice of: mild/hot/very hot
We ordered the hot version of this and I have to say it is a bit spicy for my liking. But, what I liked about them is that they give extra broth that you can add into your ramen to lessen the spiciness of it.
This one costs Php280.00 and for a big serving that’s good for 2, it is worth it.
2. Pork Gyoza (pan fried)
I really liked their Gyoza. It’s not excessively oily plus you can really taste the ingredients they have used that marries all the flavors together.
3. Chicken and Shrimp Gyoza (pan friend)
This one’s not really special (for me and my friend) since the taste is similar to that of the pork gyoza. But again, hands down for producing a gyoza that’s not oily!
Pan Fried: Php120.00
Deep Fried: Php130.00
It’s a family oriented restaurant that has a nice ambiance and friendly staff. The food is superb and the prices for each is worth it because of its presentation and taste!
